Coronavirus – Frequently Asked Questions

RoSPA HQ has had many questions relating to RoADAR operations in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. As we hope you will understand, this is an exceedingly busy time for the HQ-based team, so while we will endeavour to send individual responses to queries, it may take us some time to come back to you.

In the meantime we have prepared the below frequently asked questions based on your emails and phone calls. Please note that these should be treated as guidance only.

The advice below, and that sent in emails, is based on what the Government is advising.

What is the latest with car and bike tutoring and testing?

Following the lockdown announcement on Monday January 4, all RoADAR activities, including tutoring and testing, must stop until further notice.

RoSPA is expecting to review the situation around mid-February, at which point groups and examiners will be contacted again.

Anyone who has a test booked for January or early February will have it postponed until it is safe to conduct.

What about ride-outs and other group activities?

All activities should cease. Group meetings can still take place online.

What if I received a retest notification during lockdown?

If you receive a retest notification, please still go through the online booking process. That will ensure you retain your last test grade, and that your retest can be booked at the earliest possible opportunity.

Are certificates still being issued for those who have passed their re/test?

Yes, however they are being sent out electronically as a pdf document, as RoSPA staff are not currently working from the HQ building.

Candidates can use their test card, handed to them by their examiner, to demonstrate their pass and its level, until they receive their certificate.

I have booked/I want to book/I have made a query with RoSPA HQ but haven’t had a response.

RoSPA HQ is still running at limited capacity due to home working, so please bear with us as we try to deal with all of your queries.
