Do you finish braking before you go into a bend?
Do you generally avoid braking when going round bends?
Correct Answer YES
12/13. A vehicle is most stable when travelling in a straight line, so when applying the brakes they will effect the stability of the vehicle less when they are applied while travelling straight. When you apply steering upon entering a bend or travelling round the bend, then the forces acting on the vehicle create further instability.
The consequence of applying the brakes as well as steering round the bend is that this further instability could result in a skid and loss of control. Always try and brake when your vehicle is travelling straight.
